About me…

Hello. My name is Stormy Smith. I was born a Hoosier in northern Indiana, the second youngest of seven children. After school, I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to be near some of my family. While working a job at a printing company there, I met Mr. Smith. We fell in love and married under an arbor of fresh flowers on a wonderful summer day. Eventually we produced three fabulous and talented sons who have gifted us with seven amazing grandchildren. As a wife, mother and grandmother, I love reading, Paris, travel, fashion, decorating, family and planning Camp Grandma. And champagne. I do love champagne.

During our 40 years of adventuresome marriage, we have lived in or near some interesting towns and cities including Ann Arbor, Michigan; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Atlanta, Georgia; Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania; and Ithaca, New York. We love to travel – from quick weekends to New York city, Washington D.C. or Ann Arbor, Michigan – to more leisurely journeys to Paris, the southwest, and Canada.

The initial idea for this blog came from friends and family asking me about Camp Grandma, an event that I plan and produce every other year for my beloved grandchildren. I locate and rent a large home near a beach, plan seven days of activities, adventures and good food that allows kids, grandkids and grandparents quality time to enjoy the outdoors and each other.

Additionally, as I accumulate years and experience, I have also accumulated thoughts and opinions on becoming an enlightened middle-aged woman. I find I enjoy hearing and reading how other women have managed their years and experiences and hope to add to that conversation.

Please join me in my adventures…
